Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards which are valued less than 10 are valued at face value while at the same time ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they strictly depict the two hands to be played).

2 hands of two cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and five produces a score of two (7plus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card can be given out depending on the following protocols:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Victorious stakes on the banker pay 19 to 20 (even odds minus a 5% commission. Commission is monitored and cleared out when you leave the table so ensure that you have $$$$$ still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to 1. Winner bets for tie as a rule pay out eight to 1 and occasionally nine to one. (This is an awful wager as ties happen lower than one every 10 hands. Avoid placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are positively better – nine to one versus eight to 1)

When done smartly, baccarat offers fairly good odds, apart from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with most games, Baccarat has some common false impressions. 1 of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Monitoring of prior conclusions on a chart is definitely a waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most popular and probably most successful strategy is the one-3-2-6 concept. This technique is employed to maximize payout and lowering risk.

Begin by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, take away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the 1st wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. Thus that you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
