Baccarat Protocols
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are of a value less than ten are said to be worth face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they just act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards are then given to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand is the grand total of the 2 cards, but the first digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of 7 and 5 gives a tally of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be given depending on the following guidelines:
- If the gambler or banker has a total of 8 or 9, then both bettors stand.
- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or lower. If the player hits, a chart might be used in order to ascertain if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the two scores will be the winner. Successful stakes on the banker pay nineteen to twenty (even money less a 5% commission. Commission is tracked and moved out when you leave the table so ensure that you have money left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie by and large pays out at eight to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will happen lower than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try placing bets on a tie. Nonetheless odds are substantially better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)
When done accurately, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with all games, Baccarat has some well-known misconceptions. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future happenings. Tracking of previous results on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.
The most commonly used and probably most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 scheme. This technique is used to pump up payout and minimizing risk.
start by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have six on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third gamble, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the fourth wager.
If you don’t win on the 1st wager, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the second will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Coming away with a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. Thus you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
