Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards. Cards under 10 are of face value whereas ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they simply appear as the two hands to be dealt).

Two hands of 2 cards are then dealt to the ‘banker’ as well as ‘player’. The value for every hand shall be the total of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For e.g., a hand of seven and five gives a tally of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card could be given out depending on the foll. guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a score of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the bettor has 5 or lower, he hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The larger of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful bets on the banker payout 19 to twenty (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and paid out when you leave the table so ensure you have cash left before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winning bets for tie typically pays 8 to 1 but occasionally nine to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Stay away from laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are supremely better – nine to 1 versus eight to 1)

When done effectively, baccarat offers fairly good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.

Baccarat Strategy

As with many games, Baccarat has some well-known myths. 1 of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future events. Tracking of past conclusions on a chart is definitely a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and almost certainly most successful method is the 1-three-2-6 scheme. This tactic is used to maximize payouts and lowering risk.

start by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, subtract four so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the third bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th gamble.

If you don’t win on the 1st bet, you take a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you break even. Getting a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. Therefore you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
