Punto Banco Rules
Punto banco is played with eight decks in a shoe. Cards below 10 are valued at face value while 10, J, Q, K are zero, and Ace is one. Wagers are placed on the ‘bank’, the ‘player’, or on a tie (these are not really people; they simply represent the two hands to be dealt).
Two cards are given to both the ‘bank’ and ‘gambler’. The value for each hand is the sum total of the 2 cards, although the beginning number is discarded. For instance, a hand of 5 and 6 has a score of 1 (five plus 6 = 11; dump the 1st ‘one’).
A third card could be given using the rules below:
- If the gambler or bank achieves a total of 8 or 9, the two players stand.
- If the player has less than 5, she hits. Players stands otherwise.
- If the gambler stays, the bank hits on a value less than 5. If the gambler takes a card, a guide is used to determine if the house holds or takes a card.
Baccarat Odds
The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Winning bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (equal money less a 5% rake. Commission are tracked and paid off when you depart the game so make sure you still have cash remaining just before you depart). Winning bets on the gambler pay 1:1. Winning wagers for a tie typically pays 8:1 but on occasion 9:1. (This is a poor wager as a tie occurs less than one in every 10 hands. Be cautious of wagering on a tie. However odds are substantially better for nine to one versus 8:1)
Bet on correctly baccarat chemin de fer offers relatively good odds, aside from the tie bet of course.
Baccarat Banque Method
As with all games baccarat banque has quite a few accepted misconceptions. One of which is the same as a myth in roulette. The past is not a harbinger of future actions. Recording previous outcomes at a table is a waste of paper and an affront to the tree that was cut down for our paper desires.
The most familiar and probably the most accomplished plan is the 1-3-2-6 method. This plan is deployed to build up earnings and minimizing losses.
Begin by wagering one dollar. If you succeed, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a grand total of three units on the second bet. Should you succeed you will now have 6 on the table, take away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add 2 on the four on the table for a total of 6 on the fourth wager.
Should you lose on the 1st round, you take a loss of 1. A profit on the 1st round followed by a loss on the second causes a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd provides you with a profit of two. And wins on the 1st 3 with a defeat on the fourth means you experience no loss. Succeeding at all four bets gives you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you are able to squander the 2nd bet 5 times for each favorable streak of 4 wagers and still break even.
