Baccarat Rules
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards under ten are of face value and on the other hand ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they just act as the 2 hands to be dealt).
Two hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for every hand shall be the sum of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven … 5 has a value of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).
A third card may be dealt depending on the foll. standards:
- If the player or banker has a total of 8 or 9, each players stand.
- If the bettor has 5 or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If gambler stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart will be used in order to figure if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The higher of the 2 scores will be the winner. Successful wagers on the banker pay at 19 to twenty (even odds less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure to have money remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie as a rule pays out at 8 to 1 and sometimes 9 to one. (This is a terrible gamble as ties occur less than one every 10 hands. be cautious of laying money on a tie. Even so odds are certainly better – 9 to 1 versus 8 to 1)
Played properly, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, away from the tie wager of course.
Baccarat Tactics
As with just about all games, Baccarat has some common misconceptions. 1 of which is close to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Keeping track of past outcomes on a chart is a complete waste of paper as well as an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most commonly used and feasibly most successful strategy is the 1-3-2-6 scheme. This tactic is used to amplify winnings and controlling risk.
Begin by betting one unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of three on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the 3rd wager, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th wager.
If you lose on the initial bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the first bet followed by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you breakeven. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can lose the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
