Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards with less than a value of 10 are said to be at face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual persons; they just represent the 2 hands to be dealt).

2 hands of two cards will then be given out to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the total of the 2 cards, but the very first digit is dumped. For eg, a hand of seven … five produces a score of two (sevenplus5=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be given out depending on the following practices:

- If the player or banker has a score of 8 or nine, the two players stand.

- If the gambler has 5 or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or less. If the player hits, a chart shall be used to figure if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the 2 scores wins. Successful bets on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even odds less a 5% commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have money left over before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pays eight to one but occasionally nine to 1. (This is not a good bet as ties will occur less than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from betting on a tie. Nevertheless odds are emphatically better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to one)

Played accurately, baccarat provides pretty good odds, aside from the tie wager of course.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about every games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is quite similar to a roulette myth. The past is not an actual indicator of future results. Tracking of old conclusions on a chart is a complete waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most accepted and probably most successful tactic is the one-3-two-6 technique. This technique is deployed to pump up winnings and controlling risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd bet. If you win the third wager, add two to the four on the table for a value of 6 on the 4th bet.

If you lose on the 1st bet, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd creates a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you come out even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of ten. This means that you can fail to win the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
