Baccarat Rules

Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards valued less than ten are worth their printed value whereas 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they only appear as the two hands to be played).

2 hands of 2 cards will then be given to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The score for any hand shall be the sum of the two cards, but the initial digit is removed. For example, a hand of 7 and 5 will have a total score of 2 (sevenplusfive=12; drop the ‘1′).

A third card could be dealt depending on the following guidelines:

- If the player or banker has a value of eight or nine, both bettors stand.

- If the bettor has five or lower, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If bettor stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart is used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores is the winner. Victorious stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to 20 (even money minus a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and moved out when you leave the table so make sure that you have cash still before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays 8 to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a terrible gamble as ties occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. be cautious of wagering on a tie. Regardless odds are certainly better – nine to 1 versus eight to 1)

When played smartly, baccarat presents fairly good odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with just about all games, Baccarat has some established false impressions. One of which is similar to a misconception of roulette. The past is in no way an actual indicator of future happenings. Tracking of past results on a chart is simply a waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most commonly used and possibly most successful technique is the one-3-2-6 method. This technique is used to build up wins and lowering risk.

start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the two on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away four so you have two on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a grand total of six on the fourth gamble.

If you lose on the first wager, you take a loss of one. A win on the 1st bet quickly followed by loss on the 2nd causes a loss of two. Wins on the first two with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. This means that you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of 4 bets and still break even.
