Baccarat Regulations
Baccarat is played with eight decks of cards in a shoe. Cards which are valued under ten are said to be at their printed value while 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each equal to 1. Wagers are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual contenders; they purely depict the 2 hands to be given out).
2 hands of two cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for any hand will be the grand total of the 2 cards, but the 1st digit is discarded. For example, a hand of seven and 5 gives a total score of two (7plusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).
A 3rd card may be played depending on the foll. practices:
- If the player or banker has a value of 8 or nine, the two players stand.
- If the player has five or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.
- If bettor stands, the banker hits of five or lower. If the gambler hits, a chart shall be used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.
Baccarat Odds
The greater of the two scores wins. Winning stakes on the banker payout nineteen to twenty (even odds less a 5 percent commission. Commission is tracked and paid out when you leave the table so be sure to have cash remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay 1 to one. Winning bets for tie normally pays eight to one but sometimes 9 to one. (This is a crazy bet as ties will happen lower than one every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try wagering on a tie. Even so odds are certainly better – nine to 1 vs. 8 to 1)
When done properly, baccarat offers pretty decent odds, aside from the tie wager obviously.
Baccarat Tactics
As with most games, Baccarat has some established misconceptions. One of which is quite similar to a roulette misconception. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Tracking of old conclusions on a chart is definitely a total waste of paper … a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.
The most accepted and possibly most successful method is the one-three-two-6 scheme. This scheme is deployed to amplify wins and reducing risk.
start by wagering 1 unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the 2nd bet. If you win you will have six on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the third wager. If you win the 3rd bet, add 2 to the 4 on the table for a sum of 6 on the 4th gamble.
If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of two. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
