Baccarat Policies

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards valued less than 10 are said to be at their printed value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each given a value of 1. Wagers are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual gamblers; they purely appear as the 2 hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards are then given out to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the total of the two cards, but the first digit is discarded. For example, a hand of 7 and five has a tally of 2 (7plus5=twelve; drop the ‘one’).

A 3rd card could be given out depending on the foll. standards:

- If the bettor or banker has a total score of 8 or 9, then both bettors stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. bettors stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the player hits, a chart will be used to judge if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The bigger of the two scores wins. Successful stakes on the banker pay at nineteen to twenty (even money less a five % commission. Commission is kept track of and paid out when you leave the table so make sure you have $$$$$ remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay 1 to one. Winner bets for tie usually pay 8 to 1 and occasionally 9 to one. (This is not a good bet as ties will occur lower than one every ten hands. Avoid laying money on a tie. Regardless odds are significantly better – 9 to one vs. eight to 1)

When played smartly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie wager obviously.

Baccarat Tactics

As with most games, Baccarat has some well-known false impressions. 1 of which is close to a roulette myth. The past is in no way a predictor of future actions. Keeping track of prior results on a chart is a waste of paper … an insult to the tree that gave its life for our stationary needs.

The most commonly used and possibly most successful method is the 1-three-two-6 technique. This technique is used to accentuate earnings and minimizing risk.

Begin by gambling 1 unit. If you win, add 1 more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, clear away 4 so you have 2 on the 3rd wager. If you win the third bet, add 2 to the four on the table for a total of 6 on the 4th wager.

If you lose on the initial wager, you suck up a loss of one. A win on the first bet quickly followed by loss on the second brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the first two with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first 3 with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Coming out on top on all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of 10. In other words that you can lose the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
