Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards in a shoe. Cards than are of a value less than 10 are said to be worth face value while at the same time 10, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed on the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual people; they only represent the two hands to be given out).

Two hands of 2 cards will then be played to the ‘banker’ and ‘player’. The value for each hand will be the sum of the two cards, but the very first digit is dropped. For example, a hand of seven and five results in a total score of two (7plusfive=12; drop the ‘one’).

A third card can be dealt depending on the foll. regulations:

- If the gambler or banker has a total of eight or nine, then both gamblers stand.

- If the gambler has five or less, he/she hits. gamblers stand otherwise.

- If player stands, the banker hits of five or lesser. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to determine if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores wins. Winning wagers on the banker payout 19 to 20 (even money less a five percent commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so make sure you have money remaining before you leave). Bets on the player that end up winning pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pay out 8 to 1 but sometimes nine to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties will occur lower than 1 every 10 hands. Run away from placing bets on a tie. Still, odds are positively better – nine to one versus 8 to 1)

When played properly, baccarat provides generally good odds, aside from the tie wager ofcourse.

Baccarat Strategy

As with all games, Baccarat has some common misunderstandings. One of which is similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future events. Keeping track of last outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a total waste of paper and an insult to the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most established and possibly most successful technique is the one-three-two-six method. This technique is deployed to boost payout and controlling risk.

Begin by wagering one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of 3 on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove 4 so you have two on the 3rd gamble. If you win the third gamble, add two to the four on the table for a total of six on the fourth wager.

If you don’t win on the first wager, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed up by loss on the 2nd brings about a loss of 2. Wins on the 1st 2 with a loss on the 3rd gives you a profit of two. And wins on the first three with a loss on the 4th mean you break even. Attaining a win on all four bets leaves you with 12, a profit of 10. This means you can get beaten the second bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
