Baccarat Regulations

Baccarat is played with 8 decks of cards. Cards of a value less than 10 are of face value while ten, J, Q, K are 0, and A are each applied a value of 1. Bets are placed upon the ‘banker,’ the ‘player’ or for a tie (these aren’t actual individuals; they merely depict the two hands to be given out).

2 hands of 2 cards shall then be given to the ‘banker’ … ‘player’. The score for each hand shall be the grand total of the two cards, but the first digit is removed. For eg, a hand of seven … five gives a total of 2 (sevenplusfive=twelve; drop the ‘1′).

A third card might be dealt depending on the following protocols:

- If the bettor or banker has a tally of eight or 9, then both players stand.

- If the player has five or lower, he/she hits. Players stand otherwise.

- If gambler stands, the banker hits of 5 or less. If the gambler hits, a chart is used in order to decide if the banker stands or hits.

Baccarat Odds

The higher of the two scores is the winner. Winning bets on the banker payout nineteen to 20 (even money less a five % commission. Commission is followed closely and moved out when you leave the table so be sure to have dollars remaining before you leave). Winning bets on the player pay one to 1. Winner bets for tie generally pays out at eight to one but occasionally 9 to 1. (This is a crazy wager as ties happen less than 1 every 10 hands. Definitely don’t try laying money on a tie. However odds are emphatically better – nine to one vs. 8 to 1)

When played correctly, baccarat offers relatively good odds, apart from the tie bet ofcourse.

Baccarat Tactics

As with all games, Baccarat has some established myths. One of which is very similar to a roulette myth. The past is in no way an indicator of future results. Keeping track of last outcomes on a chart is undoubtedly a waste of paper and a slap in the face for the tree that gave its life to be used as our stationary.

The most popular and feasibly most successful method is the one-three-2-six technique. This scheme is employed to build up payout and cutting back risk.

Begin by gambling one unit. If you win, add one more to the 2 on the table for a total of three on the second bet. If you win you will have 6 on the table, remove four so you have 2 on the 3rd gamble. If you win the 3rd bet, add two to the 4 on the table for a sum total of six on the fourth bet.

If you don’t win on the initial bet, you suck up a loss of 1. A win on the 1st bet followed by loss on the 2nd will create a loss of 2. Wins on the first 2 with a loss on the third gives you a profit of 2. And wins on the first three with a loss on the fourth mean you come out even. Winning at all four bets leaves you with twelve, a profit of ten. In other words you can get beaten the 2nd bet 5 times for every successful streak of four bets and still break even.
